Bordeaux-based VC manager Aquiti has closed its seed fund, "Aquiti Venture Amorçage 1" (AVA 1), with a total volume of nearly €60 million (French Tech Bordeaux, October 26). According to reports, the final closing took place back in July (Bouger à Bordeaux). In a press release issued at the fund's launch in October 2024, Aquiti had stated a target volume of €60 million, with an initial closing of €30 million (Aquiti 2024).
The fund invests in early-stage companies based in southwestern France and the surrounding regions. At least 70% of the fund's capital is earmarked for the health and environmental sectors, with a target portfolio of 25 to 30 companies (Aquiti 2024). Reports from 2026 indicate that initial investment amounts range from €100,000 to €3 million (Aquitaine Online). Through follow-on financing, the total investment per company can reach up to €6 million.
Investors participating in the initial closing included Bpifrance, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, and Crédit Mutuel Arkéa (Aquiti 2024). Reports indicate that the final closing also saw the addition of MACSF, entities from Crédit Agricole and BPCE, as well as regional entrepreneurs (Aquitaine Online; Le Journal des Entreprises).
Founded in 1998, Aquiti Gestion manages assets totaling approximately €230 million (Aquiti). AVA 1 is the firm's first closed-end fund focused on the early stages (PE Magazine 2024).
Within the funds tracked by the "Close Index," €16.8 billion is allocated to the health and biotechnology sectors, followed by €12.1 billion for the field of AI (as of October 28, 2026). Two growth funds account for more than a third of the total volume allocated to the healthcare sector. In the early-stage segment, the field of AI continues to lead with 6.3 billion euros.
